(Just a reminder to websurfers that we don't send out stoves by carrier all over the UK. We operate only in Greater Manchester, North/Mid Cheshire, and parts of N. Derbyshire) |
Coalwood Heating Centre is a small, family-run, business based in Cheadle Heath, Stockport. We first opened for business way back in 1982 which, we believe, makes us the longest established stove specialist in our area. We are very conveniently located for customers from all parts of the area we cover, being on the A560 Stockport-Cheadle trunk road, midway between M60 junctions 1 (Stockport West - the pyramid) and 2 (Cheadle), yet, unusually these days, we have ample unrestricted roadside parking right outside the door. We have possibly the largest display of well-known brand name stoves in the area, with usually at least 35 on show, of which several are in working order, plus ample stocks of our more popular models. Unlike some in the woodburning field, who have sprung up with the recent boom in stove sales, and who sell stoves as a sideline to another business, we are a very long established dedicated full-time stove specialist. offering, if required, a complete professional in-house installation service to customers who buy their stove from us, to which end we are HETAS-registered Nos.1222 & 10532 - please feel free to check us out on their website - consequently we can talk to you on as simple or as technical level as you may wish. For your convenience, should you wish to combine a visit to us with a shopping trip, then just a few hundred yards down the road are a Morrisons Superstore with cafe and petrol station, Aldi, Homebase, and Go Outdoors. Stockport Town Centre is barely five minutes away by car, as are B & Q, Decathlon, John Lewis (Cheadle Royal), Sainsbury's (Cheadle Royal); with Marks & Spencer (Handforth Dean) and Tesco (Handforth Dean) just a few minutes further. Or, if you are dropping friends off at Manchester Airport, we are just 10 minutes away - motorway all bar the last ½-mile! |
If your house is 1930s or older, your chimney might look OK outside, but could well be like this inside! But would a non-HETAS registered installer be aware? |
Do you live in a Smoke Control Zone? (Click here to find out). If you do, and you propose burning wood, you should be looking at DEFRA-approved stoves |
TRAFFIC ALERT Stockport MBC are carrying out structural works on the stretch of Brinksway (A560) between the glass pyramid (M60 Jct 1) and our showroom, and traffic will suffer disruption till Spring 2010, whilst the retaining walls, supporting the road above the River Mersey, are rebuilt and strengthened. They say that the work will be carried out off-peak between 0930 and 1530 on weekdays, during which temporary traffic lights will reduce the road to one lane, but this is likely to cause inevitable tailbacks on this very busy road, although they don't seem to have been too bad so far. There is no obvious quick and easy diversion for customers from the east side of Stockport, who are unfamiliar with the area, but those who are familiar with Stockport might find it preferable to approach us via Edgeley Road and St. Lesmo Road rather than Brinksway. |
TRAFFIC ALERT - SEE FOOT OF PAGE |
Got a stove already, and struggling to light it? Or does it never seem to get hot, whilst the fire is very smoky? Its odd-on that your wood isn't dry enough. Click here for how to order supplies of kiln dried logs delivered to your door. |
